Over the years Ive been collecting coloured card and its been sitting there not being put into good use much. However with this discovery of creating a new typeface from folding, the coloured card can now be potentially used in a number of ways...
The Background of an image...
The colour of text...
The coloured card experiment was an excellent one as it gave me an understanding of working with paper at different widths. For example my name in this paper exercise used the width of paper strips at 2cm while;
- celebrate - 0.5cm width
- something - 1 cm width
- good - 1.5 cm width
It was also interesting to understand what colours do work and don't together, especially when you've got over 5 or 6 colours on a page. It's important to balance it right so the image is not too overpowering or confusing to the reader.
Finally, I love how the use of colour throughout really enhances the images to become really aesthetic. These discoveries will definitely be taken into consideration when it comes to actually making my final poster.
